Light & Day Supportive Housing
Light & Day Supportive Housing is a two-person (Cheyenne Bennett & Mckenzie Wessels) project focusing on a temporary housing solution for homeless Veterans. The guidelines required a community space with key areas for socializing, rehabilitation, and everyday needs. Throughout the semester, my partner and I gathered research information about our demographic and the appropriate spaces which accommodated occupants' safety, security, and needs as they navigate a new journey.
Supportive spaces in the community areas include Cultivate Corner, Day-Break Center, Horizon Room, Wholesome Therapy (consulting rooms and fitness center). Our design also included two apartment styles, Micro (Cheyenne) and Studio (Mckenzie) which each team member was assigned and designed individually.
