BUTTERFLIES IN BLOOM
Butterflies in Bloom, a learning center designed for children ages three to twelve, will support children’s emotional and social growth as they play and interact with peers. Similar to the development of a butterfly, children will learn to grow as individuals, flourish over time, and celebrate each child’s uniqueness. This facility will serve as a haven for children within the Fargo-Moorhead area to further explore, learn, and develop a variety of skills. Butterflies in Bloom will provide this community with a remarkable resource that supports the personal growth and emotional development of children through inclusion and intentional play. The Fargo-Moorhead community will vastly benefit from a children’s learning center that welcomes, inspires, values, and supports the evolving needs of the next generation.
This capstone project was completed in a group of three (Cheyenne Bennett, McKenzie Wessels, & Jocelyn Lysne). The project was completed in two parts, the first phase of this project is a compilation of our own research we conducted through site visits, field surveys, interviews, and online researching. Part two involves our design process using Revit and Enscape to bring our learning center to life.
